SnapTag User Guide

Campaigns

In SnapTag, a Campaign is the core tracking device.  It represents something that you are promoting - whether it be a website, a video clip, a registration form, a Facebook Page, or something else.  A Campaign always has one Primary QR code, can can have additional "Placement" QR codes if you want to do more advanced marketing.

Basic Features

Creating a Campaign

Campaigns are created from the Company screen.

Editing a Campaign

A Campaign can be changed at any time, including it's name, or the Action that a scan performs, without having to re-print your QR Codes.

Deleting a Campaign

Deleting a Campaign is permanent, and will make any printed Codes un-scannable.  This should only be done when the code is no longer wanted.

To delete a Campaign, first Edit it, and you will find the Delete option there.

Advanced Features

Start and End Dates

Some marketing efforts have meaningful start and end dates. For example, if you're promoting a special Christmas sale, then scans you receive after Christmas do not have the same value to you as scans received before Christmas.

SnapTag allows you to specify start and end dates on your Campaign, to categorize scans for reporting purposes. You can identify;

  • Exactly how many scans you received during the active period of the campaign (i.e. between the start and end dates)
  • Exactly how many scans you received before the campaign began (these will be classed as test scans, performed by your marketing team)
  • Exactly how many scans you received after the campaign finished (these allow you to measure the ongoing effectiveness of an advertising medium)

You can specify either the Start Date, or the End Date, or both, depending on your tracking needs.

Google Analytics Tracking

If you have a Google Analytics account, you can setup an Analytics code and link it directly to your SnapTag campaign. SnapTag will then feed data directly into Analytics, which has a highly advanced reporting and location detection system.
